The heart of the Apollo Ensemble system is the powerful and highly flexible software, designed to allow an almost limitless set of creative possibilities.

The user is the starting point;  with sensors and switches used to trigger and control events. There is no need for a set sequence of events which must be followed to achieve a set result. Design your effects and responses to be triggered in any order, and from any number of different starting points. This means that the same theme created with the Ensemble software can be performed in a multitude of different ways, depending on how people interact.

Designer is a simple to use piece of software, featuring an intuitive drag-and-drop interface. All the elements connected to your system - switches, sensors, lights, sounds etc - are represented by graphical blocks. Select the blocks required from a selection of palettes and drop them onto a graph area. Then, to make things work, join them together graphically using 'wires'. This creates a 'map' that tells the computer what you want to do.

Hit 'Play' to launch the Player and hear and see what you have created.

Player is a simple to use tape-deck style interface for the maps created by Designer. It can be used alongside Designer for auditioning maps as you create them or as a stand-alone application.

Exported maps can be performed by Player without the need for Designer to be open. This creates a simple way for beginners and everyday users to access precomposed themes and get playing straight away.
